In terms of access and such, everything is well arranged. Clean and tidy everywhere. Before renting a storage unit, I first went to look at the showroom. It looked fine. For the time being, I opted for a 10m³ box, because there was no 16m³ storage available on the ground floor. SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED with the assigned unit!!! It does not resemble the unit in the showroom in the slightest. It turned out to be a narrow ‘pipe’ just 1.20 meters wide, approx. 3.80 meters long, and less than 2.50 meters high (clearly a former toilet). With larger items in your hands, there isn't even enough room to turn around (just try it out at home in your toilet). Effectively, you can barely use half of the unit, because you have to leave walking space clear to reach your belongings at the very back. The fact that this space differs so much from the showroom model and has serious limitations regarding accessibility is something that really should have been mentioned beforehand. In my opinion, you can't get away with a notice on your website saying: “please note: actual dimensions may vary”. It surely shouldn't be very difficult to build in an extra confirmation during the online order process where the actual dimensions of a unit are provided. We simply couldn't fit the somewhat larger items we wanted to store. Now we can only hope that a 16m³ unit becomes available soon that actually corresponds to what is shown in the showroom.
Over the past few years, I have rented a storage unit from De Opslagman in Zoetermeer. I chose De Opslagman based on the favorable rates and reviews. It turned out to be an excellent choice. Everything was neatly arranged online, access via a code, the building is clean and tidy, there is covered loading and unloading, free use of roll containers and trolleys, cameras are present, etc., and a very spacious elevator. Switching boxes at De Opslagman also goes flawlessly. Highly recommended if you are looking for storage space.
