It was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST customer service EXPERIENCE I've ever had. They don't deserve even 1 star.I booked, signed the contract, and fully paid for my storage unit nearly one month in advance because I planned to leave my belongings there over the summer and collect them later. On the agreed move-in date, I travelled to the facility only to find that I could not access or use my storage unit at all.The app's "Get Directions" sent me to the entrance of a completely different company (Picnic), there was no clear sign showing where Building B was, and nobody answered the phone despite my repeated calls, including several during office hours.I ended up wasting about an hour trying to access a storage unit I had already paid for. At one point, I genuinely thought I was trapped inside Building A because there were no instructions, no emergency contact information, and nobody answered the phone.To make things even worse, I later received an email on 2 July saying, "Your storage unit is ready and you can move in as from 28 June." My contract started on 28 June, so by the time that email arrived, the entire purpose of renting the storage unit had already passed.I submitted a formal complaint with supporting evidence and sent multiple follow-up emails. Apart from one initial reply, I never received a meaningful response to any of my later emails. In the end, I only received an automated "Contract Ended" email and a refund of the rental fee, without any meaningful response to the issues I had raised.Overall, this experience caused unnecessary stress, wasted a significant amount of my time, and cost me money that could have been completely avoided. I would never use Shurgard again or recommend it to anyone.P.S. If you're going to tell me to contact your customer service, please don't. I already did from the very beginning, copied them on every follow-up email, and still never received a meaningful response.
