Verdict: 👍🏽We visited during their Christmas season and it was amazing! The kids enjoyed some ice skating, a haunted house, some sweets & trinket shopping, and of course we got on the giant Ferris wheel. It was beautiful! Prices to get on rides was very fair.
A lively and colourful market in the heart of Maastricht — full of fresh produce, flowers, cheese stalls, and local treats. It has a great local buzz and is perfect for wandering around with a coffee in hand. Parking nearby can be a bit hectic on busy days, but it’s definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere and variety of stalls.
We bought battered prawns and battered cod from the Markt square south-west corner seafood takeaway temporary stall in my pictures on both Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Both were terrible. previously cooked. They were just warmed up. Cod tasted like grey fish that died too long ago. Prawns were chewy rather than fresh. Recommend avoid those. “Poisson fish” almost spelled it right.
It’s a beautiful place and I would recommend if you are a lover of sight seeing. There is a bridge nearby where you can choose to go boating underneath.
