Max from beryl bikes it’s very rude with customers. Avoid this company . They don’t allow you to talk with the manager and they block your account . Scam!!!!! THEY ALWAYS TRY TO CHARGE YOU 10 POUNDS FOR NO REASON AND THE BIKES NEVER WORK .MAX FROM BERYL YOU ARE THE BEST I DONT KNOW HOW YOU STILL WORKING HERE.
Sorry to say I am unable to use these bikes here in Brighton because the app doesn't upload onto my phone and there's no other way to pay that I can see. Very disappointed because I was looking forward to my first cycle after more than a year of operations and recovery. Tellingly there is only one 5 star review to see here and the vast majority of reviews are from unhappy customers. Such a pity as the previous bike service worked well and didn't exclude people with the 'wrong' phone because you could book online or pay at the bike with your card which it appears you can no longer do. This new service therefore feels discriminatory and exclusionary. I would love to be able to write a 5 star review but since I can't get the app it's impossible to test the service so you don't even deserve the one star I'm forced to give.
After using a promo code given to me by a friend that gave me an amount of free minutes, without warning, Beryl Bikes blocked my account from using their service, accusing me of fraud. After contacting their customer service team, they doubled down on the notion that my activity was fraudulent and that by using this code it was a breach of their terms of service, and on closer inspection, it became apparent that they had not only blocked my account, but also my device from being able to use their service.Whilst I understand that the code may not have been intended for me, this was a legitimate code, so blocking my access as well as making accusations of fraud is absolutely ludicrous and offensive. This was Beryl Bikes error, but they have placed the blame on the end user. I would have understood, to an extent, if they realised their error and removed the code and minutes, but the removal of service to this extent is absolutely insane, especially for a service run in partnership with the local council.
It doesn’t work properly. I was grossly overcharged it took almost 20 minutes to get a bike unlocked, as most that I tried to unlock we’re either unavailable or simply just wouldn’t move. Once I finally got a bike unlocked I only used it for 5 minutes and cycled to the next stop. No matter what I did the bike wouldn’t lock even though I fully clicked it in to the lock frame. As a result I was charged for 80 minutes even though I only used it for 5. I can’t seem to get my money back, I’m very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.
