RUN AWAY! I'm writing to tell you what has happened to my partner cause the current situation is so terribly oppressive that I have to share it. I've noticed that we're not the only ones with a war story... But let's make a long story short. February : M. (my partner), had to store some belongings (clothes, personal items, etc...), including some music and audio equipment, in a warehouse during a trip to Austria. He mentioned that some of the equipment was of some value. A few days before moving, he informs Storebox that he will not be renewing the contract for another month as he will be collecting his belongings in the next few days. March 13th : he opens the door of the storage to move the items and discovers that all the boxes have been opened and the music and audio items stolen. He calls the police, contacts customer services and sends all the information requested by Storebox customer services.What happens then? NOTHING An incredible number of emails to Storebox customer services with the same response: "We have contacted the insurance company and are awaiting their response, sorry for the inconvenience". After 5 months and despairing of the situation, he finally managed to get the phone number of the insurance company and called them directly, despite the advice of Storebox customer care not to do so, as they pretended to be already in contact with the insurance company to follow up on his case.The insurance company told him that they had NEVER received any requests from Storebox customer services. He sends all the paperwork that Storebox had already requested to the insurance company and discovers that... his case cannot be covered by the insurance because Storebox cannot provide a video of the corridor where the storage unit was located (which was inexplicably out of order at the time) AND the locker had inexplicably been opened, using the code that was supposed to be super-secure. What? How is that possible? He's the victim of a robbery, he's been through one of the most traumatic experiences in a person's life, he has a police report, he sent pictures of the devastated storage unit and he's not the one who stole his own things (sic...) and left a devastated room.He writes to Storebox customer services again and again and... nothing. No one at customer services has mentioned a problem with his request, which has been left with zero concrete feedback since March. I don't know what happened, and I wouldn't suggest anything I can't prove, BUT what I do know is that this company's business ethics are just awful. Bottom line: Run, run away.
