I had a horrible experience with ZebraBox Winterthur. Particularly with the team leader and customer manager Geraldo Ferreira.I chose this company months in advance because I needed storage with controlled humidity for sensitive belongings while I would be away from Switzerland. They explicitly guaranteed a stable controled range of 40 - 60% humidity, which was the main reason I chose them. I relied on that promise for months.Two days before leaving the country, I went to store my items. Right away, I noticed something was wrong: the humidity meter on-site was not working, so I checked with two different portable devices I brought with me. I even tested on two separate days. Both showed humidity levels around 30% or lower, far below what was promised and completely unsuitable for my original needs.I contacted customer service immediately. They told me it might be a temporary malfunction and promised to call me back the same day. That never happened.I then had to call repeatedly because no one was answering. After many attempts, someone finally picked up. I was stressed due to the situation, but I remained polite and only asked for clarification and a solution, specifically when the issue would be fixed and whether they could still meet their guaranteed conditions.Instead of helping, the situation escalated, this staff member abruptly decided to terminate my contract and gave me one month to leave, claiming that we “could not find a solution that meets both of our expectations.”At that point, I had to leave the country and could not find an alternative solution in such a short period so had no time to move my belongings.After a few days, already abroad, I was so desperate that I even lowered my expectations. I clearly stated by email that I no longer required humidity control and just wanted to keep the storage due to lack of alternatives. Despite this, they still refused me!!Because of this, I was forced to book a last-minute flight back to Switzerland and pay for hotels and travel just to deal with a situation they created. This caused unnecessary stress, financial loss, and major disruption during an already difficult international move.So after 10 days, I came back to Switzerland to move my stuff, and the “temporary malfunction” was still there. No humidity control, and the humidity meter was off.So they just lied!I know humidity control is not important for the vast majority of people, but the point of this story is to show the lack of respect and honesty from these people. They kept my reservation for months based on a condition that did not exist, and then completely messed up my plans and life because I had no time to find an alternative.Overall, I experienced broken promises, poor communication, lack of responsibility, zero flexibility, and no empathy in a critical situation. I would not recommend this service to anyone.One final detail: I am from Portugal, and this person who canceled my contract is also Portuguese. Despite clearly knowing my background from my reservation details, he never acknowledged it and communicated only in English. I only realized we are from the same country when he signed the email terminating the contract. It may seem like a small thing, but in such a stressful situation, it reflects a complete lack of empathy and human understanding.Edit after the company reply:They wrote "the specific conditions you describe were not agreed in the way presented here" - yes, they were. So I challenge them to modify their reply and say exactly what we agreed on? I'm curious to see how far they can lie.Also they wrote "it was not possible to agree on an arrangement"- I specifically stated by email (also wrote here in the review before their reply) that I lowered all my expectations requirement just to keep the storage. From my side I agreed to everything in the end, yet they still refused me! But keep saying we couldn't agree! Pathetic.They even told me over the phone today that I wasn't worth the trouble because I only rented a small box.Avoid them at all costs.
