Unethical and disappointing experience — I would avoidEarlier this year, I used Welti Furrer for three separate removals: two within Switzerland and one from France to Switzerland. This was my first time using the company, and I chose them despite the significant cost involved.Overall, the moves were reasonably efficient and most belongings arrived in good condition. However, the customer experience during the organisation phase was mixed, with some staff members, including Jael Fassler, being unpleasant and difficult to deal with.The most serious issue arose five weeks after my move, when I discovered that a piece of artwork was missing. I am extremely organised and certain that it was stolen during the moving process rather than misplaced. I had paid a substantial amount for insurance coverage, expecting that this would provide protection in exactly this type of situation.Instead, Welti Furrer refused to assist, stating that the insurance was only valid if the loss was reported within four weeks. Given that they were aware I travel extensively for work, and given how unrealistic it is for many people to be completely unpacked within four weeks of a major international move, I found this response extremely disappointing.I also have concerns about the security procedures around the staff assigned to my moves. The company promotes the idea of “buy local and Swiss,” but all of the removal staff who handled my belongings appeared to come from Germany and used German mobile numbers. This raised questions for me about how thoroughly personnel were vetted.Based on my experience, I would not use Welti Furrer again. It is unfortunate, as I am highly committed to my life in Switzerland, but next time I would consider using a less expensive international moving company directly rather than paying a premium for a Swiss provider.
